Groups receive ambiguous scenarios (someone not responding to texts, a coworker being short) and identify possible internal vs. external attributions

Perception checking practice

Pairs practice writing and delivering perception checking statements for given scenarios

Attribution error gallery walk

Posters around room with common situations; students add sticky notes with potential attribution errors and corrections

Debrief and personal application

Class discussion: When is the fundamental attribution error most likely to occur? How can we catch ourselves?

  • Ambiguous images/optical illusions (slides or handouts)
  • Scenario cards with ambiguous situations
  • Perception checking template cards
  • Large poster paper and sticky notes for gallery walk
  • Timer for activity rotations
